Mira Erda is currently getting bullied. It’s not for what normal teens get bullied for, it’s because she races! Mira is not only the youngest female to race in India; she is also the only female karting racer in India.  Being the only girl on the track has been hard on Mira.  People, especially her competitors, have not made it easy on her. Mira says that even awhile back her trainer discriminated against her due to her gender. Even through everything people say, Mira is determined to continue her kart racing career.
Mira has been racing for 5 years now and she says that it still has not gotten much easier. However, all the comments are what give her the determination to continue and prove all of them wrong. Her father is a big help to her and the reason she got involved in kart racing. Mira’s father owns a kart race track and ever since Mira tried racing on it for the first time, she’s been hooked. To stay focused Mira meditates and does lots of yoga. Even though she knows that it will continue to be a struggle to be accepted in this male-dominated sport, she still plans to race.
