The women of Fiji Car Club have spoken and are urging more woman to join the Fiji Car Club and participate in some of their drag racing events.  Fiji Car Club, also known as, Fiji Motorsports  Association, hosts several events throughout the year, including their ever so popular, Drag Wars!
“I love this sport, this is my first time driving in the Drag Wars and I am just so thrilled that I have won!  There is hardly any women who come to the races but I urge them to come out and try it because they won’t want to top,” Sandiya Naidu stated in a recent interview with the Fiji Sun Online.
Sandiya Naidu took 1st place in the Class E Open Ladies Race that was held during Drag Wars at Nanuku Airstrip in the Pacific Harbor this past weekend.  She is 34 years old and credits her passion and love from racing to her husband.
“I started in the quarter-mile, drag race early this year and ever since then I’ve been looking forward to every race.  It also helps to have a supportive husband who also enjoys the same thing as me, so that is an added boost for me,” Sandiya Naidu stated.
The Fiji Car Club hopes to boost draw more women to their car club and boost attendance at their upcoming track events, such as Drag Wars.  The next and final Drag Race of the Year is coming up on November 22nd.  Please visit the Fiji Car Club Facebook Page for Details.
