Beth Paretta is the team principle of Grace Autosport. Beth asked Katherine Legge to drive and represent Grace Autosport at the next Indy 500 race in 2016. Katherine Legge was chosen because she has years of experience. Legge has driven in the Indy 500 race twice along with other races. The British Formula Fords, the Toyota Atlantics, the IMSA Sports car, DTM and Formula Racing are just a few different races she has participated in. Katherine Legge has agreed to represent the team of Grace Autosport the following year at the 2016 Indy 500 race.
Beth has gotten more than just Katherine’s support though, many people are backing her up on her decision. Catherine Crawford is showing her support as aerodynamicist. She is also the principal of Crawford Composites and a team supervisor in the IMSA Tudor United Sports Car Championship. Lauren Elkins is a motorsport engineer, she is also a track support technician and data analysis manager supporting Beth. Jessica Rowe is a junior design engineer for both tracks and office spaces while being a supporter of Grace Autosport. Beth is also receiving support from Barbara Burns who is a motorsport professional.
Beth Paretta decided that women should run the Indy 500 race to show determination and motivation. Beth is hoping that other women around the world will want to be more involved in racing. The purpose of Beth pushing for women to run the race is to also prove that a good education in STEM can benefit them. STEM is an education in science, technology, engineering, and math. Beth is hoping to show women everywhere that by getting an education based on STEM, they can bring their racing dreams to life. This female run Indy 500 race will hopefully show women that they can pursue their dreams.
