Grand Prix race car driver, Katherine Legge,  paid a visit to the students at the Detroit International Academy to talk about her experiences as a female race car driver.  Many of the students were said to be involved in the engineering and robotics team.
“I wanted to get my adrenaline pumping. I wanted to either be a fighter pilot or a race driver. I didn’t believe I’d probably ever get there, but through hard work and sacrifice, I did and you can, too. I was prepared to give it 110%,” Katherine Legge explained to the students.
While she was encouraging the students that the sky was the limit with hardwork and dedication.  She also addressed several current issues in motorsports and answered many of the student’s questions about her racing experiences.  One of the questions that really stood out to us, was about Richard Petty and if she would ever test drive for him.
“I would welcome the opportunity and certainly do it.  I’d even make the call. As I said to the girls today, you develop a pretty thick skin through the years trying to make things happen and be turned away and told you can’t do it. It would be quite an interesting conversation,” Katherine Legge stated
Did Katherine Legge just call out Richard Petty?
