Leanne Tander is a racer and mother of 2 young children. Her daughter Scarlett, who is nearly 4, was the main reason why Leanna took a break from racing. Her second child then came, Sebastian who is 3 years old, and made her mothering her first priority. Leanna is married to Garth Tander. Garth is the winner of 2007 V8 Supercar Championship Series. However, Leanna has also made a name for herself racing her Duratec-powered Formula Ford. Leanna raced for 17 years before she took a break, now she is ready to get back into racing.

Leanna is a professional Holden motor racing ace. In 1997, Leanna participated in the Formula Ford level race. This caused her to become the youngest woman who has ever achieved the feat. When she finished with 2nd place in round 1 of the Konica V8 Supercar Series, she was named the 1st female to ever stand on the podium at a V8 Supercar Race. After she took a break for 4 years, Leanna came back and continued to make a name for herself. Leanna became the 1st woman to ever win a round at a Formula Ford Championship. In the same year, Leanna finished with 3rd place on the podium.
Although Leanna loved racing, she took a break to become a mother. She had the strength and determination to come back and continue her racing career. Leanna continues to be a mother to her 2 children, but also fixes up her car with her husband to race down the track. Leanna continues to achieve racing honors. She also continues to encourage other women to race, no matter what people say.
