Well known UK motorcycle racer, Maria Costello, has been appointed to the FIM’s 2014 Women’s Motorcycling Commission.  Maria Costello is a British motorcycle racer that has a very impressive and successful history in motorsports.  She held the Guinness World Record for the fastest woman to lap in the Isle of Man TT Course until 2009.  Maria Costello was also the first woman to achieve a podium finish in the Isle of Man Motorcycle Racer.
“It is a great honor that is aimed at supporting and encouraging women all over the world who want to ride motorcycles,” said Maria Costello in a recent interview, “I want to do a lot more to help women to enjoy motorcycling in the same way that I have. Bike racing has been the best thing I have ever done in my life and I want to help open up that opportunity for other women.”
Maria Costello has a very admirable professional reputation in motorcycle racing industry.  She has always been viewed as a great role model for female racers. Not only does is competitive an successful on the track, she is also known for her hands on experience and pride of building some of her own bikes.
