During the 2016 Women of Motorsports Contest, Cheryl blew away the competition by finishing in 1st place in one of the most competitive Car Chix Women of Motorsports Contests to date; earning her title of the 2016 Woman of Motorsports (Read: Women of Motorsports Contest Review) and her spot in the 2017 Car Chix Calendar.
From Blue Island, Illinois, Cheryl Hryn races a 2010 Chevy Camaro and is supported by Bill’s Speedshop, Rhyne Competition Engines, Kyptonite Chassis, Public Safety Direct, Gilbert Trucking, Marty Nussbaum Racing Ent., Make It Straight Auto Body and Cabin 7 Radio. Cheryl also couldn’t do what she does without the love and support of your family; especially her Father and Daughter, Alexis.
Cheryl has been behind the wheel for 15 years and is a regular competitor in the Street Stock Class at Grundy County Speedway. Some of Cheryl Hryn’s most recent accomplishments include: 2 Most Improved Driver Awards from two different classes, 3 Most popular Driver Awards and 1 Best Appearing Award.
Growing up watching her Father race was the driving force behind Cheryl’s development of love for racing and motorsports. As we like to say, it was in the blood! When we asked what she loves about racing and motorsports today, Cheryl said, “Meeting new people and most importantly, my little fans.”
Kids Night Flier
Cheryl loves children — especially her grandchildren — and to show her support for the “little fans” and local racing community, she has been highly involved with fundraising events for the kids! On Friday, July 7th, Cheryl Hryn Racing and Bradley Racing have teamed up to present the 2nd Annual Mackenzie’s Bike Giveaway during KIDS NIGHT at Grundy County Speedway, located in Morris, Illinois. The teams are actively accepting bike donations at this time. For more information or to donate a bike, please contact Cheryl Hryn Racing. Last year’s event brought in 65+ bikes for the kids with over 300 children in attendance.!
Coming up on August 4th is the Back to School Night Backpack Giveaway during the Street Stock Special! Last year, Cheryl had hundreds of backpacks donated full of school supplies for all of the children at the race track and local community. It was nothing short of amazing. Again, if you or you company are interested in getting involved with either of these events, please contact Cheryl or Car Chix. Cheryl Hryn is expected to race during both of these events. In addition, Car Chix will be setup during the events to show support for the cause and mission!
Cheryl is no stranger to the challenges in racing. However, she embraces the challenges and takes them head on. Her main goal for this season is “to keep learning as much as I can in the shop and on the track.” You can never stop learning.
“I have had so much support of the years by many of people. Each one of them has treated me like a princess,” Cheryl Hryn says,”Now it is time for me to take all of that knowledge and build off of it.”
All though Cheryl Hryn did’t make any major changes to her motor or setup during the off season, she did make one big change to the appearance of her car! Check it out below!
