McKenna Haase has accomplished many things in her lifetime and she just ended high school! On Sunday, McKenna gave her graduation commencement speech at Carlisle High School, while still feeling her adrenaline rush. The previous night, McKenna participated in a Knoxville Race.  Not only did she participate, but she became the first ever female feature winner. Knoxville has been holding racing since 1901 and has never had a female racer win up until now.
“Every night when I’d go to bed, I’d play through every scenario possible of how I could win at Knoxville. … I’ve imagined that a million times through, and to get to live it is unbelievable. But now I feel like I can just go race and there’s a lot of pressure off me now,” McKenna reported to The Des Moines Register.
After being the first to cross the checkered flag for the 305-cubic-inch A-main race, McKenna screamed for joy. She got out of her car and walked a victory lap with her father by her side. McKenna stayed up all night to answer fan mail and questions from millions of people. The very next day, McKenna walked the stage and gave her speech. Last May, McKenna came close to winning when she piloted her car to 2nd place in a 305 feature as a rookie. The next year she came back and won. McKenna set a record and graduated all in one weekend.
