The weekend of August 8th the women at NHRA Northwest Nationals had a huge success. In Top Alcohol Megan McKernan took home the win. For the class of Top Alcohol Funny Car Annie Whitely won. Both females had major success and did not get any special treatment. These two females beat the men in their class. They did not participate in an all-girls class, they participated with men and beat them.

For Megan McKernan she took home her 2nd win of the NHRA Mello Yello National Drag Racing Series. McKernan took first place in the Top Alcohol class. Annie Whitely took home her 3rd NHRA National event trophy. Whitely came in first place for the Top Alcohol Funny Car. She raced her Chevy Camaro. Only 2 females came in the top 3 and both of the came in 1st place for their class.
