Car Chix is honored to announce Miranda Lawson as a featured member of Car Chix. Miranda Lawson is pictured above with her 1967 Chevy Nova. She is Ms. January in the 2014 Car Chix Calendar (order yours by clicking here) and was one of the top 12 finalist in the 2013 Women of Motorsports Contest that was hosted on the Car Chix Facebook Fanpage.
Miranda is a student from Joliet, Illinois where she regularly drag races her 1967 Chevy Nova in the Pro Class at her home track, Route 66 Raceway. Her best ET to date is 10.20 @ 133 mph in the ¼ mile. What Miranda loves most about racing is the adrenaline rush and the feeling of beating a guy on the line!
She comes from a family of drag racers — it’s definitely in her blood! Miranda’s uncle, John Lawson, raced NHRA and is currently involved with match racing Nitro Funny Cars. The racing action doesn’t stop there. Miranda’s Dad, Grandpa, Aunt and Uncle are all involved in drag racing.
When ask what advice she could give to other women that were interested in getting involved with motorsports, Miranda stated, “Always follow your dreams, no matter how impossible they seem.”
