Car Chix proudly announces Natalie Sorak as an Official Featured Car Chix Member. Natalie Sorak competed in the Car Chix Annual Women of Motorsports contest and finished in the top 12 out of 398 entries; earning her spot as Ms. April in the 2015 Car Chix Calendar (click here to order your calendar now).
Natalie Sorak is a drag racer from Homewood, Illinois. She races a 1991 Chevy powered Mustang with a 5.7 LS motor. She competes in the NHRA Summit E.T. Bracket Racing Series for Division 3. Although she travels for racing, she credits her home track as Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. She also has taken a couple first place wins in the Car Chix Ladies Only Drag Race Series.
Last year, Natalie earned her first win in the 6.50 Index Series. She also made her fastest career pass of 10.10 in the 1/4 mile and an 1/8th mile pass of 6.41.
“I love the speed, the adrenaline rush you get when racing, the competition, the determination to do better than the last time out, setting goals and achieving them, all of the awesome people I have met through the years that have now become a part of my racing family and friends of mine,” Natalie explains about her love of racing and motorsports, “to see your hard work paying off and showing that the late night thrashes and garage arguments really helped out!’
Natalie has always been a big supporter of Car Chix and women in motorsports. She has always been a role model to other women in automotive industry and encourages the next generation to follow their dreams and passions.
“Do what you are passionate about and do it with the respect and love you would want to see someone else do it with,” Natalie says, “When you are at the start line it is not “male” and “female” its racer against racer. Give the respect to the sport that you want to receive in return.”
That is pretty solid advice! Natalie has been working hard in the garage this winter and is expected to debut her Chevy powered Mustang with a number of advancements. We are looking forward to seeing her hit the track this season!
