Car Chix announces Natalie Sorak as Ms. April! Natalie placed in the top 12 of the 2015 Car Chix Women of Motorsports Contest, earning her spot in the The Glass Carver sponsored month of April in the 2016 Car Chix Calendar (purchase yours in the Car Chix Online Store).
Natalie Sorak is from Homewood, Illinois and is the proud owner of a LS1 Powered 1991 Ford Mustang!  Yes, that is right folks, a Chevy powered Mustang.  When she is not kicking butt and taking names at her local race track, Byron Dragway, she is holding it down in the Information Management Systems Department of a major company.

You can catch Natalie Sorak running the Midwest Index Series, the Pro Avenger 10.20 index class at Byron Dragway (1/4 mile) or 6.50 index class with the OSCA or any southern race that is 1/8th mile.

“The root of my love for cars came from my dad who is a retired mechanic.  He is one of my biggest supporters I have,” Natalie Sorak explains,” I was lucky enough to meet my boyfriend, Dave, who is a die hard drag racer. He was the one who started this whole addiction of drag racing when we got my mustang back in 2008.  He is also one of my biggest supporters.  I wouldn’t be where I am in this sport if it wasn’t for all of his hard work, dedication, and determination not only on my race program but his own.  We work together in the garage and at the track and I couldn’t ask for anything else! Also have to throw a shout out to my Squad for all that they have helped with over this season!”

In 2015, Natalie Sorak had an amazing year! She finally hit her goal of achieving her first 9 second pass!  The fastest pass Natalie made in 2015 was a 9.90 @ 134.65 mph in the ¼ mile and 6.28 @ 108.9 mph in the 1/8th mile.  She also took a couple #1 qualifier spots.  Natalie Sorak took home a win in the Pro Avenger class for the Midwest Index Series,  along with making a semifinal appearance.  She also took a runner up spot in the 2015 Car Chix bracket race that is set to make a come back at Byron Dragway July 23rd of this year.

“This year more than any other, really showed how much of a “family” the racing community is.  Between the support that was shown after Dave’s wreck and the togetherness shown not only at the track but off the track as well throughout the year. It is truly amazing to see how one “hobby” and love for a sport can bring people together,” Natalie says,”I am thankful for all the people I have gotten to meet, know, and become friends with through the sport of drag racing. I also love being involved, not only as a driver, but working on the car and helping out others as well.”

Natalie is a major advocate for women in motorsports. She also has some great advice for women wanting to join the world of motorsports.

“Don’t think that because you are “just a girl” or a woman in a man’s sport that you can’t be just as good if not better than them,” Natalie explains,”If you have respect for the sport, respect for your opponents / competition, then you will receive that in return.”

Over the winter, Natalie has been busy helping re-build her fiancea’s car, the Storm Trooper!  Natalie and his fiancea, Dave have a full race schedule planned for the 2016 season.  We can’t wait to see them back out on the track this year!
