Car Chix welcomes Natalie Sorak as an official featured member of Car Chix! Natalie Sorak is Ms. September in the 2014 Car Chix Calendar and was one of twelve top finalists in the 2013 Women of Motorsports Contest, hosted by Car Chix on Facebook. You may also recognize Natalie from her previous feature in the 2012 Car Chix Calendar. Natalie Sorak is a female drag racer from Homewood, Illinois. Natalie and her car are one of a kind — she races a Chevy Powered Mustang. That’s right — a 1991 Ford Mustang crossbred with a Chevy LS motor. Get it girl!
When she is not running the offices of a well known construction company or going rounds at Car Chix Ladies Only Drag Race Events, you can find her tearing it up in the Pro Class / NHRA Division 3 of the E.T. Bracket Series at her home track, Route 66 Raceway. Some of Natalie’s recent accomplishments include 1st place finishes in 2 Car Chix Ladies Only Drag Race Events and she was also a semi-finalist in the 2013 National Dragster Challenge at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois.
“The thrill of drag racing is awesome,” Natalie explains,”but most of all proving anyone that doubts you wrong.”
Natalie credits her father and her boyfriend for her love of motorsports and drag racing. Natalie spent countless hours in the garage with her father as he worked on his show cars while she was growing up. She would accompany her father to car shows and events. Natalie always wanted a car of her own and had the passion to drive. Once she met her boyfriend, David, he made all her dreams a reality. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without him,” Natalie states.
What advice would Natalie give women interested in getting involved in motorsports? “Don’t let a stereotype stop you from doing what you want. Set a goal for yourself and don’t stop till you achieve it,” Natalie explains, ” I am still striving for my goal!”
