Car Chix is proud to announce Zoe Hannah as an official member of Car Chix, the premier motorsports organization for women. Zoe Hannah is Ms. November is the 2014 Car Chix Calendar (2015 Car Chix Calendars are now available in the Car Chix Store) and placed in the top 12 in the 2013 Car Chix Women of Motorsports Contest that is held annually on the Official Car Chix Facebook Fanpage.
Zoe Hannah is a Pure Stock female racer from Independence, Kansas! She began racing her 1982 Buick Regal at Osage Casino Caney Valley Speedway at the young age of just 13! The first time that Zoe Hannah ever raced on the track, she finished 6th out of 15 other racers. By age 14, she had already won her very first feature race.
“For over 80 years my dad’s side of the family has been involved in dirt track racing. My dad has taken me to watch the races for several years and I just loved watching it and wanted to do it too,” Zoe explained,”When I told my dad that I wanted to race my mom said, no way and my dad said, If the girl wants to race she’s going to race! I am the first girl in my family to race!”
Zoe Hannah loves the adrenaline and competitive nature of racing. On the track, she is just another racer and does not feel that she receives any special treatment because she is a woman. “I just love racing. It’s very competitive! I race with guys twice my age and older. I’ve been racing 2 years and the guys do not see me as a little girl driver anymore,” she explained, “they know I am out there to do my best and they don’t cut me any slack!”
Zoe Hannah says racing isn’t just for boys and encourages other women to actively get involved in the sport and show the boys how it’s done!
