For Immediate Release:

PALM BAY, Florida –March 23, 2021– Larsen Motorsports (LMS) is proud to announce Zachary ‘Zach’ Costello, Florida Tech Alumni, as the newest Jet Dragster Driver for the Larsen Motorsports Jet Racing Teams.  Zach will be the third driver for the current 2021 racing season at LMS.

Elaine Larsen, President of LMS said, “Zach has been apart of the LMS family for over 5 years, watching his progress from intern to crew to Crew Chief, and now Driver is what LMS is all about. Giving opportunities to the next generation is the future of LMS.”

Zach started working with the LMS jets teams back in 2015 as a Florida Institute of Technology Student Intern. With a lifetime passion for cars and racing, Zach felt at home working in the LMS Research and Development facility.  By 2017, he had worked his way up to a Crew Chief position and in 2018 became Crew Chief for Elaine Larsen and the Florida Tech Jet Racing Team. Now he will trade in his position outside of the car to inside the driver’s seat.

Zach has spent countless hours at the LMS facility doing everything from assembling General Electric J-85 jet engines to fabrication of the Florida Tech Generation 6 Jet Dragster. The concepts that Zach learned during his internship with LMS applied directly to his Aerospace Engineering Degree at Florida Tech, and ultimately led him to land his current job at L3 Harris.  His background, in not only racing and being a crew chief, but also aerospace engineering will help him to flourish as a jet dragster driver in the years to come.

He is looking forward to his new view from the driver’s seat, while still being able to support his team anyway that he can. Zach said, “I am super excited to have completed my Jet Dragster licensing! COVID had put a halt to the licensing early on, but hitting the track again and working my way through my licensing runs was a breath of fresh air. In 2021, I look forward to growing my driving skills and lining up against other drivers at races! I would like to thank the Larsen Motorsports team for the opportunity of a lifetime and my family for supporting me through it all.”

Zach, with the support of his wife Cori and parents Kevin and Renee, are looking forward to the racing seasons ahead, where Zach will pilot one of the incredible fire-breathing monsters of the Larsen Motorsports Jet Racing Teams.

Zach is currently seeking new sponsorship opportunities. To watch Zach and the Larsen Motorsports Jet Racing Teams blast down the track check out the 2021 Larsen Motorsports schedule at LMSjets.com. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to keep up to date @LMSjets.
