Gary Poppins Snacks to Sponsor NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster Racer Megan Meyer at Brainerd

(August 14, 2017)  With a recent national event win in Chicago added to her three Divisional wins this season, Top Alcohol Dragster racer Megan Meyer is currently in first place in NHRA’s Central Region, and 3^rd place in the overall NHRA Lucas Oil National Championship.  Joining her team at the Brainerd, Minnesota race this weekend will be sponsor, Gary Poppins Snacks.   The gourmet popcorn manufacturer is entering Menards retail stores through a racing promotion with their flavored single serve bag products.
Megan will be signing autographs and have her Top Alcohol Dragster on display from 5:00 – 7:00pm this Wednesday, August 16, at the Menards store (15236 Dellwood Dr, Baxter, Minnesota 56401), just a few minutes from Brainerd International Raceway.  “I’ve raced at Brainerd for at least 10 years starting in a junior dragster, then moving up to Super Comp Dragster competition and now Top Alcohol Dragster.  I’ve experienced success at the track and feel very at home in the area since I like the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.  Having a Menards store so close to the track is great for fans needing camping supplies and snacks like Gary Poppins popcorn for the race weekend.”
Gary Poppins is retailing six flavors of their gourmet popcorn at Menards including Carmel Cheddar, Classic Cheddar, Classic Carmel, Kettle Corn, Cheddar Jalapeno, and Lite Sea Salt.  The Illinois based manufacturer is headquartered not far from Menards largest concentration of stores in the Chicago market and is looking forward to tying into Megan’s racing team to kick off the retail promotion.
Once the Menards store appearance is complete, Megan and her team will begin preparing for competition at the NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals.  Qualifying sessions start on Friday, August 18 at 2:00 & 4:30pm, followed by a third session at 12:00pm Saturday.  Eliminations begin Saturday at 2:45pm.  Follow the team throughout the weekend at www.facebook.com/meganmeyer.racing and www.nhra.com.
