Help Sophie and Her Family Sparkle on Through Cancer

The daughter of one of our biggest supporters was recently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Sophie is only 17 years old and had been having stomach pains for the past several months, but x-rays and doctor visits showed nothing out of the ordinary.  The pain continued to increase and when specialists ran further tests, it was discovered that Sophie had a very large yoke sac tumor.  The doctors were able to remove the tumor, but we later found out the cancer was far enough advanced that Sophie needed to begin chemotherapy a few weeks ago.
Anyone that knows Sophie and her family, know that they are very giving, kind hearted and would give the shirt off their back to anyone in need.   It is now time for all us that have been blessed by knowing this family, to give them something back in return.
The GDRA (Gamblers Drag Racing Association) has set-up a couple of ways to help out with expenses for Sophie’s ongoing care and multiple trips into Chicago.   Below in an a link to download an order form for Ovarian Cancer “Sparkle” apparel and/or donations.  All donations and a portion of each piece of apparel will go directly to the family.
In exchange for the opportunity to help out Sophie, her family would like to express how critical it is for all of us to listen to what our bodies are saying, no matter what age we are.  If something doesn’t feel right, push your doctors and specialist into additional testing and get a second opinion!
We have no doubt that with Sophie’s determination and the love and prayers from her family and friends, she will not only beat this, but keep that determined “SPARKLE” in her eye.
