ALL ABOUT ME-rochelle hospitial-carchix-carchicks-ladies only drag race-breast cancer fundraiser
Yesterday we announced the cancellation of our longest running event — The Car Chix Ladies Only Drag Race & Breast Cancer Fundraiser due to complications surrounding the Covid-19 Pandemic.  This decision did not come lightly as there were many factors and parties involved.
One of the greatest impacted parties is Rochelle Community Hospital’s All About Me Program which we have raised money for at this event since it was moved to Byron Dragway several years ago.  Over the years, we have formed great partnerships and friendships with the dedicated healthcare workers at this facility, along with members of the surrounding communities that have helped support this event.
The All About Me Foundation offers a number of free resources for patients going through pre & post treatments including:

  • CANCER CARE BAGS: All chemotherapy patients will be provided with a “care bag” containing items to comfort and assist them as they receive cancer treatment. The tote bag will include items such as a water bottle, blanket, lotion, lip balm, nail file, toothbrush, date organizer, nutrition information and more.

  • SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS: Even with insurance, cancer is costly. People with cancer and their families can be devastated physically, emotionally, mentally — and financially. The All About Me Cancer Program will provide grants to qualified cancer patients at Rochelle Community Hospital from the Ogle County area so they can better manage their road to recovery.

Although we are unable to hold the event this year, we can all still make a difference.  We would like to encourage anyone that is able, to make a contribution to the Rochelle Community Hospital’s All About Me Foundation.  We understand that these are trying times, but every little bit can help.  We again appreciate your continued support and understanding during these difficult times.
