While the racing season winds down and most of the NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster teams are done for the year, Julie Nataas and the Randy Meyer Racing Team will be competing at the final National event of the 2018 season in Pomona, California this weekend. Last year, Julie claimed the no. 1 qualifying position with the third quickest pass in class history, 5.11 seconds in the quarter-mile, and completed the weekend with a runner-up finish.
This year, Julie and Randy’s team are fresh off a runner-up finish at the NHRA Las Vegas Toyota Nationals and hope to carry that momentum into California, “I have high hopes for Pomona considering what we did here last year and how we finished in Vegas two weeks ago,” said Julie “We have had some bad luck here as well but I am hopeful we have the luck on our side this weekend so that we can bring home my first Wally.”
Julie will switch cockpits this weekend and can be seen in the team’s second A/Fuel Dragster sporting the NGK Spark Plugs livery, “I have been driving both cars quit a lot and I’m comfortable in both of them. The NGK Spark Plugs Dragster fits me better as it’s a little bit smaller, but we have a good seat in the other car as well. I will still have the same routine in this car, so I don’t think it will make a difference on how I perform as a driver.”
