While the racing season winds down and most of the NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster teams are done for the year, Julie Nataas and the Randy Meyer Racing Team will be competing at the final two National events of the 2019 season in Las Vegas, NV this weekend and Pomona, CA on November 15th. Last year, Julie got a runner-up and semi-final finish at these two events respectively and is looking forward to winning both events this year.
This year, Julie is fresh off a semi-final finish at the NHRA Dallas FallNationals and hopes to carry that momentum into Las Vegas to clinch her fourth-place National standings finish. “Fourth is the best we can do this year,” said Julie. “We don’t have enough points and won’t be able to collect enough points even if we win the last races to go to the third spot. To keep our position, we need to be on top of our game and go rounds in both Vegas and Pomona. We’re only one point from the number five spot currently being held by Josh Hart.”
Julie can be seen in the team’s second A/Fuel Dragster sporting the Dot’s Pretzels/Menards livery, while the team prepares the World Championship winning NGK Spark Plugs dragster, driven by Megan Meyer, for off-season prep.
“The two last races of the season are my favorites,” Julie said. “There are always so many friends and racers from Europe that comes out to watch, cheer, and have a good time! And my family always flies out which is something I really do appreciate since I don’t get to see them that often.”
Julie will get her first two qualifying sessions for the 16-car field on Friday, followed by the final session on Saturday before round one of eliminations. Catch the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series on Fox Sports 2, Thursday, November 14th at 8:30pm ET. The race will be broadcasted multiple times on FS1 and FS2 through the end of the month.
