Car Chix proudly announces Candy Morris as an official member of Car Chix.  Candy Morris earned her spot as Ms. January in the 2017 Car Chix Calendar after competing in one of the most high profile Car Chix Women of Motorsports Contests to date (Read: Women of Motorsports Contest Launches Full Throttle)!
Candy Morris is a drag racer from Burlison, Tennessee that competes in the ‘Footbrake’ Class with a gorgeous 1981 Chevrolet Pickup Truck with a corn-fed E85 SBC.  Her Chevy Pickup has 406 Flat Top Pistons, Solid Roller Cam and RHS Aluminum Heads.  She has been involved in racing and motorsports for about 15 years.  You may recognize Candy’s vehicle from the cover of the 2017 Car Chix Calendar.
When Candy is not racing, she is holding it down as an official Process Tech at Unilever or spending time with her family.  Outside of the love for race fuel, burning rubber and fast cars, Candy and her family also enjoy some of the simple things in life, such as quality time and camping.

“A family that races together, stays together,” says Candy Morris.

Candy Morris’s love for racing began when she would go racing with her boyfriend in high school.  Together, they spent most weekend’s at the track.  After Candy got behind the wheel one weekend, she was hooked — and not just on racing, on him too.  Her high school sweetheart is now her Husband.  Candy, her Husband and children all go racing together now .. sometimes off into the sunset. 🙂

“My best memory will probably have to be the Car Chix event at MIR,” Candy explains, “I was racing to encourage my six year old daughter to race her junior dragster and never expected to win first place and best burnout!”

We first had the honor of meeting Candy Morris at the debut of the Car Chix Ladies Only Drag Race during the World Series of Drag Racing at Candy’s hometrack, Memphis International Raceway (Read: Car Chix Ladies Only Drag Race Takes Over MIR).  During this event, Candy Morris almost set the world on fire with her legendary burnouts, earning 1st place in the Car Chix Burnout Contest and taking home the first place win in the Car Chix Street Car Class.

“My advice to other women would be if it seems like it’s something you want to try, just do it,” Candy Morris says, “Life life to the fullest! Just be prepared!  You will love it!”

We look forward to was 2017 brings to Candy Morris and her family!  One of her goals for 2017 is to further encourage her daughter to take up junior drag racing.  Car Chix plans to do everything in our power to make that goal a reality.
Please join us in welcoming Candy Morris.  We are honored to have her as part of #TeamCarChix.
