Sherry “Picky Bitch” Kelley is one of the owners and operators of Q&S Custom Rides located in Prescott Valley, Arizona.  They specialize in restoration and repair of show and classic vehicles.  “Let us make your dream car a reality!”
Sherry has been in the body and paint industry for 13 years!  She got started in the business by speaking with a man named Quentin, a painter at a body shop, in search of a 1969 Chevy Camaro.  After purchasing this 1969 Camaro, Sherry asked Quentin if he would be interested in restoring it for her.  Quentin responded by offering to teach Sherry the tricks of the trade, if she wanted to learn and they could restore the car together.  Sherry started off as Quentin’s helper in a collision shop as a Jamber.  Shortly after, Sherry’s love for painting began!  Sherry and Quentin began restoring one car at a time in Sherry’s barn on weekends and before long, Sherry and Quentin had to make the decision weather or not to open up their own shop.
Q&S Custom Rides started on under $5,000 and a dream.  Now, Q&S has been open for 5 years and has one of the most prestigious reputations in the United States! Their cars have won numerous competitions for “Best of Show” across the nation! Sherry says, ” It’s not about the money … it’s about the love for cars!”
The road for Sherry, like most women involved in the automotive industry, was not always gum drops and lollipops.  Sherry worked in body shops for 6 years prior to the start of her own business.  She experienced tough times and always had to prove herself competent to men that felt that women should be in the kitchen instead of working in their shop.   Out of all the shops Sherry had worked in those 6 years, she was the only woman!  Fortunately, Sherry’s friend(now business partner), Quentin had taught her very well and it wasn’t long before the guys figured out that she really did know what she was doing and was passionate about her work.  It was Sherry’s obsession to detail that earned her the name, “Picky Bitch”.
