In drag racing, there are many racers that are great competitors. Georgina Buckley is no different. She races a 1985 Ford Mustang with a 558 BBC. Not only is she one of the most competitive racers at the track, this past year, track goers began calling her the “Fastest Woman on Drag Radials.” Competing in the NMCA Street Outlaw Series, the Midwest Outlaw Racing Series and many major X275 races, Georgina is continually racing with the baddest of the bad and usually tends to stay a couple car lengths ahead.
Georgina Buckley was raised around cars. It has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember. “My brothers were considered gear heads,” she laughed, “they used to put me in the back seat of their hot rods and do doughnuts.” As funny as that sounds, you know what they say… you got to get them started early …
As race season has come to a sad end here in the Midwest, Georgina already has gears in motion for the 2015 drag racing season. Her Ford Mustang is already in the shop getting some top secret upgrades —watch out boys— that she wishes to not share publicly. In 2015, Georgina is aiming to reach a new personal best ET and MPH.
Georgina has always been a big supporter of women in motorsports, as well as, a great role-model for young women looking to take on the sport of drag racing. When asked what advice she would give a woman that was interested in getting involved with racing, Georgina stated, “Go for it. You would be surprised as to how many people there are out there that support us.”
