Have you ever witnessed a Jet Car making a pass at the drag strip?  Your heart is pumping at the sight of the 100+ foot long flame exploding out of the back and your chest is pounding with every flame pop that shoots out.  Even on the hottest Summer days, it is never too hot to be standing next to fiery jet car running single digits.  That same power, speed and intense emotion is all that it took to pull Tracey Szymanski into the drag racing lifestyle.
Tracey Szymanski is a Speech Language Pathologist from Kenosha, Wisconsin.  She drag races a gorgeous red 1969 Chevy Nova.  Her father has raced his entire life and she followed his footsteps closely.   Tracey started off in the racing world as a crew member of her father’s jet car team!  How cool is that?   Tracey didn’t just stop there, her and her father later on bought the Chevy Nova together and they have been a father- daughter drag racing team ever since!

” I love racing, ” Tracey explained, ” I love speed.  I love learning new things about the car. 99% of the racers are very nice and will give you the shirt off their back if needed. ”  It is true and I believe most people would agree that friends that you make in the racing world become your family.
Tracey competed in a number of great drag racing events and series this season, including the Nitrous Street Car Brawl Series at Great Lakes Dragaway and the Car Chix Ladies Only Drag Race at Byron Dragway!  See the 2014 Ladies Only Drag Race Photos by Clicking Here.  In addition, she is also a member of the Midwest Door Slammers.
Tracey Szymanski has always been a huge supporter of Car Chix and women in motorsports.  Not only does she encourage other woman to get actively involved, she does so with a warning…  “Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do what a man does.  Also…, ” Tracey says, “Racing is addicting!”
For 2015, Tracey is looking forward to competing in the 2015 Car Chix Ladies Only Drag Race and has her eyes set on the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  Plans for race car preparation this winter are already underway with general maintenance items, a quick change over of her shifter cable and she will be ready to rock 2015!  Good-luck Tracey and crew!
