Taryn Laskey has been driving Monster Trucks in the Monster Jam series for over 3 years. Although many of the male drivers have accepted her, she says there is still pressure being a woman in her industry.
“You always have to push those boundaries and go bigger and better. We are representing a minority to do better than the boys, always, and bring a little style to it,” stated Taryn Laskey in a recent interview with Detroit News.
Taryn Laskey comes from a racing family. Her father’s side of the family was heavily involved in Motorcross. While, her Mother’s side of the family were big into Late Model Stock Cars and Sprint Cars. You can say that racing is definitely in her blood! At the young age of 10, Taryn began racing Sprint Midget Cars and ursued her passion all the way through College.

” I had always been around race cars. These Monster Jam trucks are huge! The tires are as tall as I am,” stated Taryn.
Taryn didn’t get into the Monster Truck scene until 2011 after watching Monster Jam on TV. She submitted Monster Jam her racing resume and shortly after was asked to fly down to North Carolina for a test drive at the Digger’s Dungeon. Weeks later, she was in debuting in her first official Monster Jam event!
