The GEICO AMA EnduroCross events have a new favorite class, the Women’s Championship Class! For the first time ever, this class will be held at all seven of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross events. Women that participate in this class, will have a chance to earn points towards the 2013 Women’s Championship at all seven races.
The EnduroCross event organizers recognize a growing interest among female riders in their sport and in this event. With the number of skilled female riders increasing, it was only a matter of time before hearing this big announcement.
“The Women’s class has generated a lot of buzz since the first event at X Games a few years ago. Some of that publicity was negative due to the difficulty that the riders had with some of the obstacles but we now have 10-12 female riders that can race around an EnduroCross track so we are excited about providing a legitimate championship series to showcase these racers,” stated the VP of events of Source Interlink, Mike Karsting.
The first 2013 GEICO AMA EnduroCross Championship event is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Friday, May 3rd in Las Vegas!
