Lea Ochs – 1st Place & Official 2018 Women of Motorsports
Car Chix, the premier motorsports organization for women, hosted yet another successful Women of Motorsports Contest! This is an annual contest hosted by Car Chix to celebrate women in motorsports and the automotive industry. Women from all of the world compete to earn their spots on the annual Car Chix Calendar and become Official Car Chix Members.
Natalie Hirschfield – 2nd Place
Over the seven day contest period, 256 women from all across the world competed in the Car Chix Women of Motorsports Contest to earn a spot in the 2019 Car Chix Calendar, become Official Car Chix Members and for a shot to be named The 2018 Woman of Motorsports.
“This was the eighth year for the Car Chix Women of Motorsports Contest. When Car Chix first introduced the contest in 2010, only 50 women competed and the contest lasted two weeks,” Jeanette DesJardins, Car Chix President and Founder stated,”Over the years, the contest has grown tremendously! This year, we wanted to shake things up a little bit and try to even out the playing field.”
Kimberly Deutsch – 3rd Place
For the first time in the Car Chix Women of Motorsports Contest history, all vote counts were hidden until the contest completed.
“By hiding the vote totals until the very end, it lowered our overall contest view count, which we expected. However, we feel that it made the contest more authentic as it removed the desire to practice questionable voting solicitation methods,” Jeanette DesJardins explained.
