Maria Costello Hosts Women Only Race Days

Maria Costello is trying to make a change in racing. She now hosts women-only race days where there are professionals to help the women with their bikes. These race days take place at the Donington Park, in Leicestershire. They will be held on July 15th and October 14th. Maria qualified as the fastest women to the Isle of Man TT Course back in 2004 and was also awarded a MBE in 2009. Maria was the 3rd in ultra weight in 2005 and was the 1st ever solo women to take the podium in the history of the Isle of Man competitions. The 41 year old also took 8th place in the senior race of the Manx Grind Prix.

Within the past 10 years, female racers have become more popular then ever before. 1 out of 10 motorcyclists are females. 40 ladies came out to the first women-only race day of the season held at Donington Park. Riders who have been racing for years, riders who have won trophies and riders who just got their licenses are all allowed to partake in the races. Maria tells all women to participate and tank advantage of the resources provided. Maria makes sure to have expert riders there along with photographers, suspension set-ups, mechanical assistants and even tire assistants. Maria hopes to have more females show up next time around.
