Car Chix proudly announces Erin Braasch as an Official Featured Car Chix Member.  Erin Braasch finished in the top 12 in the Car Chix annual Women of Motorsports Contest out of 398 entries; earning her spot as Ms. February in the 2015 Car Chix Calendar (click here to order your calendar now).
Erin is a Optician from Addison, Illinois.  When she isn’t checking your specs, she is out burning rubber with her family at tracks all around the Midwest; including: Byron Dragway, located in Byron, Illinois; Great Lakes Dragaway, located in Union Grove, Wisconsin and the legendary Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois.
Erin is involved with racing on and off the track.  Her family has been involved with drag racing for as long as anybody can remember.  Erin and her sister, Jackie (Read: Woman Preschool Teacher Runs 8’s in the Quarter Mile — Does Yours?) began racing junior dragsters when they were still in elementary school.  Once they hit the teenage years, they both upgraded to full sized vehicles and haven’t left the track since.  Erin is currently involved in a top secret Mustang build and plans on getting it out on the track this year!
When catching up with Erin, she explained her passion for racing grows deep from her family roots and “That thrill that only being in a race car can give you.”  Erin is a big supporter for women in motorsports and the automotive industry and encourages women to pursue their goals and passions. “Just never give up,” Erin states.
We will second that — Just never give up!  Keep your eye on the prize ladies!  Good-luck to Erin Braasch and the Braasch family as we head into the 2015 racing season!  We are sure we will hear more from them as the season progresses.
