“I am incredibly excited to have Kelly Tanner a part of MHR,” said Molly. “I’ve worked with him in the past and every time at the racetrack I learn something new. I think the world of Kelly and what he has accomplished. He’s proven that he has the skills and the tools to put cars into victory lane and I hope I can experience that with him in 2015.”
Tanner began his racing career in the late model division at Evergreen Speedway. Tanner started competing in the Northwest tour full-time in 1991 and won back-toback championships in 1996 and 1997. In 1998 Kelly Tanner moved up to compete full-time in the Winston West Series, finishing seventh in the series point standings.
“Pre season testing has met or exceeded our expectations,” stated Kelly. “Both test days have provided speeds better than her qualifying runs in 2014. Each team member throughout the off-season has shared thought processes that have provided the direction MHR will move in 2015. Our goals are very simple. Be better than we were last year, month, week or yesterday. ”
Molly Helmuth Racing has their first race of the year Saturday, April 4th at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington.
