The 2013 Women’s Motocross Championship was scheduled to take place today at the Awaba in New South Wales. The event was cancelled last week, leaving many of the female riders disappointed after working hard all season and even making travel arrangements to compete in the championship. Some of the top women of Australia have started a petition to get the Women’s Motocross Championship added back to the MX Calendar.
“We know the women who entered the event are disheartened and our thoughts go out to those who have made travel arrangements in anticipation of the event,” stated Matt Kearsley, Motorcycling Australia’s Sport and Event Coordinator.
