Car Chix Member, Sabreena Ekstrom of Sabreena Ekstrom Racing has partnered with Crisis Nursery for the upcoming 2016 race season! This will be Sabreena’s 5th season competing in the UMP Dirt Modified.
“Being a race car driver is what I’ve always wanted to do. But being able to live my dream AND inspire others – that is living the dream,” says Sabreena. In addition to adding to her impressive racing experience and tearing it out on the track, Sabreena Ekstrom is focused and on a mission to make a difference!
Crisis Nursery is known as an “Island of Safety”. The organization dedicates itself to prevention of child abuse and neglect by providing 24-hour emergency care for children and support to strengthen families in crisis. Crisis Nursery is the only emergency-based child care facility open 24 hours, 365 days a year for the entire community to access with no fees or income eligibility.
“I feel it is important to show these children that dreams do come true, that anything is possible, and you can overcome life’s challenges. I was once that little kid whose heroes didn’t wear capes – they wore firesuits,” states Sabreena Ekstrom,”Now I’m wearing the firesuit and I want to be a good role model for boys and girls of all ages.”
Sabreena’s 2016 race season kicks off at Farmer City April 1-2 for the Illini 100 weekend.
