Rally Car Driver, Ramona Karlsson, just signed a huge deal with Eklund Motorsport to race their Saab 93 Supercar at 7 events in the 2014 World Rallycross Championship. Ultmatley, making Ramona Karlsson the first female racer to ever compete in the World Rallycross Championship; World RX. Her teammate will be none other than World Rally Championship driver, Henning Solberg.
“It feels great to be working with Per Eklund, one of Sweden’s top racing drivers. The team has a lot of experience, and the Supercar class is where the most extreme rallycross cars are, so I’m excited to be involved,” stated Ramona Karlsson in a recent interview, “I’m obviously looking to fight with the top drivers. I can’t wait to get the season underway in Portugal.”
Ramona Karlsson was named Swedish rally driver of the year in 2013. She began her racing career at the age of 12 and won the Swedish Crosskart Championship twice. Ramona Karlsson has competed in 6 Production World Rally Championship events in the first all-female team.
