The two week long Rallye Aicha des Gazelles rally, an all female competition, has just concluded and the United States of America ranked 3 teams in the top 5!
This is all-female rally draws world-wide participants and is not for the faint of heart.  A slight mistake or miscalculation can send you right over a cliff.  Each racing team has only a driver and a co-pilot.  This race is not measured on time, but of distance.  The team that travels the shortest distance between checkpoints wins.  Did we mention, without GPS?  That’s right!  Only compasses and paper maps!
Eight teams from the United States participated in the 2016 Gazelles rally, and three of the teams finished the week in the top 5!
2nd — Nicole Pitell-Vaughan (Corona, California) / Chrissie Beavis (San Diego, California): #180 Toyota Tacoma
3rd — Susanah Hoehn (Del Mar, California) / Jo Hannah Hoehn (Del Mar, California): #107 Land Rover LR4
5th — Emme Hall (Oakland, California) / Sabrina Howells (Los Angeles, California): #178 Land Rover Defender
