Claire Williams, deputy team principal of Williams Racing, has gone public and extended an open invite to all women and young girls that have an interest in F1!
“There’s no reason why women cannot come into Formula One; there’s nothing stopping young girls coming in, as drivers, as technicians – send your CV in,” stated Claire Williams in a recent interview.
Claire Williams is asking to be contacted by women and young girls that have a definite interest in working and being involved with the F1 sport.  This announcement comes after much heat that has been developing among male F1 drivers of today and drivers of the past and their views of women in sport.  Some positive and much negative.  Among the negative outburst was legendary racer, Stirling Moss.
Claire Williams is determined to prove that women are fully capable of working and driving in F1 just like any other man in the sport.  F1 is just as attractive to women as it is men.
“We at Williams have a skills shortage so if girls are coming up to the right level why on earth wouldn’t we recruit from the pool where 50pc of society is female?,” stated Williams.
