Formula One hopeful, Susie Wolff, had a recent interview with The Telegraph explaining some of her experiencing will pursuing her dream of becoming a F1 race car driver.  Although many people a cheering for her success, she admits that just as many are cheering for her to fail.  At the end of the day, after all of the rude remarks and sexist comments, she still just wants to race.
“I have been very clear to everyone the whole way along my career that I’m not out there to prove a point about women and racing. I wasn’t out there last week to prove to the world that women can compete in Formula One. I was out there as Susie Wolff – racing driver, who wanted to fulfil her dream of driving in Formula One,” explained Wolff after being asked about her driving at the Young Drivers Test at Silverstone.
Susie Wolf states that the criticism that she receives regularly can be exhausting at times.  She often hears that she was only invited to certain race events because of her sex and whom her husband is.  However, Susie Wolff has been working to be a F1 driver since she was 8 years old.  Her family was always supportive and near led her to believe that was she was doing was a “boys sport”.
“There were a lot of people who were just waiting for me to not do well to then write something negative about women not being ready for Formula One,” stated Wolff, “I want to push for more, I want to be out on racing again but it’s not going to be about just sticking my hand up and saying hey I am a girl now give me a chance.”
Although, at the present times there are no immediate plans for Susie Wolff to be racing at the regular practice sessions, we do believe she will be soon.  Susie was hired by Williams as a development driver last year and the next position from there is Formula One.
