Some could say Megan Strassweg was destined for the love of racing and motorsports.  After Megan was born, her parents left the hospital with their beloved new born and took her straight to the racetrack!  That’s right folks!  Before even going home, Megan got her first whiff of burning rubber and race gas.  Parenting done right.  Be jealous — I know we are!

Drag racing was always apart of the Strassweg family.  Megan’s Grandfather raced unlimited outboard hydroplanes when Megan’s father was a youngster.  Ultimately, triggering Megan’s father to develop the need for speed and get behind the wheel.

Megan Strassweg began drag racing when she was just 9 years old.  She came home from school one day and there it was — a junior dragster with her name on it sitting in the driveway.
Today, Megan Strassweg is in College.  In between her studies, you can find her racing a 2015 American Dragster equipped with a 582 Chevy Big Block.  She surely has moved up since her junior dragster days to say the least!

Megan competes in the Super Comp Class with Team DragstersforSale in Division 3.  You will find her most often at one of her home tracks: Chandler Motorsports park, Lyons Raceway Park and Beech Bend Raceway Park.  Megan Strassweg and her 2015 Big Block Chevy American Dragster are powered by Coolshirt Systems, Mickey Thompson, Lucas Oil, VP Racing Fuels, Braille Battery, NGK Spark Plugs, Oakley Performance, K&N Filters, Quickfuel and Afco.

“I love the community involved in [racing], the people I’ve meet throughout the years have become lifelong friends and family to me and people I’ll never forget,” Megan explains,”I love the adrenaline rush you get before you launch. I also love burnouts, but who doesn’t??”

Megan’s best memory of racing comes from winning her very first Wally.  Back in 2010, Megan was racing her junior dragster and had her heart and mind set to make a statement.  Not only did she win and take home the Wally, but it was also Father’s Day; making it an extra special moment for her and her family.  And one proud Father, no doubt.

“Don’t be afraid, it’s okay for girls to race. Put yourself out there and show those boys who’s boss. Show them who you really are,” says Megan Strassweg, “Always have confidence for yourself.  Stay Positive!

As we begin the 2017 season, Megan and her team are busy with a new 632 Big Block motor upgrade for the 2015 American Dragster.  This year, Megan has her eyes set on being more consistent on the tree, continuing her positive attitude and creating as much exposure as possible for the companies that stand behind her.

“Set some goals, stay quite about them, smash the shit out of them, clap for your damn self.” – Megan Strassweg
