Alexis DeJoria, NHRA Driver of the Kalitta Motorsports Tequila Patron Nitro Funny Car, will begin the 2013 racing season with a new crew chief and new teammate. Last year, Alexis qualified for 20 of her 23 races under the leadership of Connie Kalitta and Crew Chief, Del Worsham. Without a doubt, Alexis DeJoria’s 2012 rookie season was remarkable!
Alexis DeJoria announced today that Crew Chief, Del Worsham, will join her as her teammate and competitor in the upcoming 2013 race season! Alexis will stay behind the wheel of her famous Tequila Patron Funny Car, while Worsham will take the wheel of the DHL Toyota. Stepping in as the new Crew Chief is Tommy DeLago. Tommy DeLago will be assisted by Glen Husza, Co-Crew Chief.
“I feel really confident that we’re going to do well,” said DeJoria. “Tommy and Glen are amazing. They really have a handle on the car; it’s very consistent, and we ran good numbers. I like their style; they’re just creeping up on it and not trying to throw everything out on the table at once. We’re just trying to find a good baseline and work from there, and I think that with everything I’ve learned and everything that my team has learned, it’s going to be a very successful year for Team Patron,” stated Alexis DeJoria in an interview with NHRA.
