Car Chix announces Miranda Lawson as an official featured member of Car Chix. She is a female drag racer from Joliet, Illinois. Miranda was one of the top 12 finalists in the 2014 Car Chix Women of Motorsports Contest and is Ms. January in the 2015 Car Chix Calendar (order yours by clicking here).
Miranda has the race bug in her blood! She comes from a long list of family racers — father, uncle and more! Her uncle raced for NHRA for a number of years before “retiring” to do match races with his newly built nitro funny car. NIIIIICE!
“The racing family is amazing. Everyone supports each other,” Miranda says,”the adrenaline rush from being in the staging lanes, to going 140 mph at the top end is unbelievable & an experience I am so lucky to feel almost every weekend for 6 months.”

You can catch Miranda Lawson running the Pro Class with her goregous blue 1967 Chevy Nova at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. This past race season, Miranda competed in the NMCA / NMRA SuperBowl and made it to the Semi’s out of 80 other race cars! She was the only female race car driver. Miranda Lawson also took home the Car Chix Hottest Ride Award during the 2014 Ladies Only Drag Race at Byron Dragway.
